In Memoriam (Yahrzeit)

Our rabbi accompanies us in times of pain and sorrow no less than on happy family occasions.

The rabbi may be invited to conduct a funeral at permitting cemeteries, such as those at Kibbutz Einat and Kibbutz Ma'ale Hahamisha or perform a memorial service after the local Hevra Kadisha (Burial Society) has completed its ceremony. The rabbi would be happy to accompany the family even when no funeral is actually performed. Furthermore, welcomes requests to conduct an egalitarian prayer minion in the home of the deceased, whenever requested by the bereaved family the congregation.

Rabbi Maya Leibovitch conducts memorial services for anyone in the family of members of the congregation who has passed away. This ceremony includes the participation of Family members are invited to participate in this ceremony, where particular emphasis is placed on aspects of the life of the deceased and its relevance to the remaining members of his family.

Every prayer service during the year after the person has passed away and in the week of the anniversary (Yahrzeit) of that person's death, they are remembered by name before the whole congregation. In addition, the congregation maintains a list of all the persons and their Yartzait dates according to which they are remembered 4 times a year -- on Yom Kippur and the days of the 3 annual pilgrimages up to Jerusalem.
