The new synagogue

Did you know?

  • The new synagogue stands on Rehov Hahoshen, in the Reches Halilim neighborhood.
  • The building is designed by the architect Jeff Remez.
  • The center covers an area of 650 square meters (about 6,500 square feet).
  • Its architecture integrates both old and new - traditional and modern - themes.
  • Its roof and the ceiling of the prayer sanctuary are designed to reminiscent of a hupah.
  • Its entrance and library up above are designed to be reminiscent of a ceremonial spice box.
  • Its arch (Aron Hakodesh) faces Jerusalem.
  • The seating in the prayer sanctuary will be around the pulpit (Bimah), which will be placed in the center.
  • In the courtyard you will be able to find the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge (not for eating!).
  • The building will contain a 'cafelery' (café-gallery), study rooms, learning center (Beit Midrash) and an activity/sports hall.
  • Kiddush ceremonies can be held under the sky in the adjacent garden and then continued in the 'cafelery'.
