Rabbi Maya Leibovitch
The head of Kehilat Mevasseret
Zion is Rabbi Maya Leibovitch. Rabbi Leibovitch is the first woman rabbi
ordained in Israel by the Hebrew Union College, the academic
institution in Jerusalem for the Movement for Progressive Judaism in
Israel. As a native Israeli Rabbi Leibovitch expresses her love of
Jewish tradition, the Land of Israel, spirituality, traditional Jewish
and modern Israeli literature in her involvement in the current Israeli
scene. |

Yaron Shavit
Born in Israel, married to Michal and the father of Yochai and Ya'ara. Yaron Shavit grew up in Hod-Hasharon and is a senior officer in the Israeli reserve army. Yaron has a bachelor's degree in law from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and a master's degree from Bar-Ilan University in Tel-Aviv, and today is a partner in a law firm. He is a resident of Mevasseret Zion since 1996 and a member of Kehilat Mevasseret Zion since 1998. His family was first exposed to the congregation at the High Holiday services and then became members for the Bar Mitzvah of his son Yochai. In his footsteps, also read from the Torah his brothers Hava and Yiftach and Ya'ara. Yaron studied for two years in Beit Midrash classes, and in recent years he has been active in the Management Committee for Kehilat Mevasseret Zion. |

deal with the manpower needs of the congregation.

Newsletter Committee3 members: Deals with the production and distribution of the congregation's newsletter and drafting members to write in it. |
Fundraising Committee
6 members: Meets as required to deal with the fundraising and finding
other resources for the congregation in Israel and abroad. |
Education
Committee
Deals with developing preschool and adult education, and with liaison
between the congregation and the families of the children in the
preschool classes. |
Culture Committee
Deals with cultural activities of the congregation. |
Religion CommitteeDeals with issues such as how the prayer services are conducted and how holidays and other occasions are observed. |
High Holidays Committee
An Ad Hoc committee that deals with organization of the synagogue
before and during the High Holiday period. |
Finance Committee
4 members: Meets once a month and is responsible for all financial and
monetary activities of the congregation. |
